Virtual Classrooms and Interactive

چکیده
By the integration of high speed computer networks and interactive multi-media workstations, the IRI (Interactive Remote Instruction) System creates a geographically dispersed virtual classroom. Each student participates using a personal workstation which can be used to view multi-media class presentations, to make presentations, to take notes in a multi-media notebook, and to interact via audio/video and shared computer tools. We compare this approach with other modes of instruction and describe lessons learned from the instructor, student and technical perspectives.

An Interactive Virtual Training (IVT) Simulation for Early Career Teachers to Practice in 3D Classrooms with Student Avatars
Interactive Virtual Training (IVT) is a web-based interactive simulation system created to help early career teachers working in high-poverty schools learn effective classroom management skills. IVT simulates disruptive students’ behavior (aggressive, off-task, noncompliant), as defined in vignettes developed by pedagogical experts on our team. These simulations enable early career teachers to ...

Introduction: Accompanied by the rapid development of computer multimedia and network technology, the internet based teaching and learning has developed and the traditional classrooms has changed to virtual network learning environments. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of two method of virtual and traditional methods on competency-based skills of first-year nu...
متن کاملAc 2007-1808: Interactive Computer-based Virtual Classroom for Engineering Courses
New paradigms in engineering education have emerged in recent years. These educational models emphasize a visual lecturing style and correspond with the growing trend of online courses. A main objective in modernizing engineering education is bridging the gap between academia and industry 1-4 . We propose a new teaching approach, based on these paradigms, that is specially designed for engineer...
متن کاملTransforming Engineering Curricula through Web-based Interactive Visualization and Simulation Modules
This paper discusses pedagogical improvement in engineering education that can be made through integration of visualization and simulation modules in undergraduate curricula. The authors are leading a planning effort to transform the existing engineering curricula to visualization and simulation enhanced curricula. The emphasis is on providing interactive visualization and simulation modules th...
متن کامل"But let me talk": An Investigation into Teachers' Interaction Patterns in EFL Classrooms
Drawing on Walsh's (2012) idea that boosting learners' contribution and interaction can play a key role in their foreign language learning, this mixed-methods study tried to cast some light on the ways by which teachers, via their choice and use of language, create or block learners' contribution in direct interactions in the classroom. A total of 800-minute recordings of 10 teachers' talks and...
